1996 KYRGYZSTAN ISSIK LAKE UNDERWATER RESEARCH

Issik Lake is the biggest lake of KYRGYZSTAN.Its altitude is 1606 m. It has the biggest altitude after Titikaka lake in the world. It located hillside of Tien Shan Mountain.In 1996 , underwater determination studies have done with the support of  Canakkale  Ceramic and Turkish Airlines.The studies lasted 7 days with the leadership of Hakan ONIZ. Diving lasted 2 days and residental ruins were found at 5m depth between Balikci and Colponata residental. In the first part of studies  , archive was scanned and pre-researches was done with the support of  Edibe Munduz Bishkek Humanity University , Department of Turkology.In the second part , divings were done.These divings were done by renting boat from fisherman.
At the depth of water , construction wall ruins and ceramic ruins were found  100-200 m far away from the coast.A ruin that has a lion figure on its top, were committed to Kaditcha Tashbayeva Kyrgyz History Institute , Department of Archaeology.The president of institute Moldabayev were informed about studies and pre-researches were ended. Both Turkish and Kyrgyz sides expected to continue scientific studies between two countries.It is thought, at least 5 antique city moved underwater at that area. There is an archaeological studies blonged to Russian Science Academy at the east coast of Issik Lake. At the lake coast  , there are a lot of residences and ruins that belonged to Turks.
